Playful Pathfinders is a warm, home‑based childcare program located in the Greenbrier area of Chesapeake, Virginia. We offer a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where children learn and grow through play. Each day includes hands‑on activities, early learning moments, and a balanced routine that encourages children to feel confident, curious, and ready to explore. Families can count on open communication, healthy meals, and caring guidance.

Playful Pathfinders services children from 2 to 5 years old, offering a warm, structured day filled with hands‑on play, early learning activities, outdoor exploration, music and movement, story time, and opportunities to practice positive interactions with others.
The daily rhythm includes free play, guided activities, meals, rest time, and plenty of chances for creativity and discovery. Children are supported through consistent routines, inclusive practices, and compassionate guidance, supporting each child as they learn, grow, and develop in a safe, home‑based environment.

Meet Vera Tanner
Vera Tanner is the owner of Playful Pathfinders, bringing a blend of business experience and a lifelong passion for supporting children. She holds a certificate in Early Childhood Development, has mentored youth through two organizations, and is an advocate for her autistic granddaughter, ensuring she receives the services she needs to flourish.
Vera has cared for children throughout the years and is known for her reliability, professionalism, and steady, nurturing presence. She now uses her skills, compassion, and commitment to create a safe, inclusive environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive.
